Ask Ember for app users

With Ask Ember for app users on, the published app gets an Ask Ember button in its header. Users ask in plain language; Ember looks at the data they are allowed to see, shows every step it took, and answers with figures, tables and charts.

Turning it on

  1. 1

    Enable it for the app

In Settings → AI, switch on Ask Ember for app users. It is off by default because it spends your workspace's AI credits on behalf of app users.
  2. 2

Pick the intelligence and a daily cap

The tier sets the model and the credit cost per step (Low 1, Medium 2, High 10). A question usually takes 2 to 5 steps. The cap limits how many questions each user can ask per day.
  3. 3

    Exclude single users if needed

On the Users page every assignment has an Ask Ember switch.

What users can ask

  • Totals and counts: “What's the gross over the last 3 months?” (calendar months, stated back in the answer).
  • Trends: grouped by day, week or month, drawn as a chart when it helps.
  • Statistics: averages, medians, spread, and whether two fields are correlated.
  • Changes: “Mark my open tickets as resolved” becomes a proposal card showing each row's before and after. Nothing changes until the user presses Apply, and applying goes through the same rules as editing by hand.

Permissions and safety

Ember reads through the user's own App role: row filters apply to every question and hidden fields never reach it. It can only propose the kinds of changes the role allows. Row contents are treated as data, never as instructions.

Every applied change is recorded under Settings → AI, and users can send a conversation to you with “Report a problem” if an answer looked wrong.
